Ireland fans divided over starting team for Slovakia Euro 2020 playoff

Many Ireland fans have been quick to question Stephen Kenny's starting team for tonight's Euro 2020 playoff against Slovakia.

It's do-or-die for the Boys in Green and Kenny has turned to an old hand in James McClean to produce again on a big stage.

McClean comes in on the wing for Aaron Connolly, who along with Norwich striker Adam Idah, were late withdrawals from the squad this evening.

There is space in the attack though for West Brom's Callum Robinson, while David McGoldrick is fit again to lead the line.

Many were calling for Shamrock Rovers' Jack Byrne to get his shot in midfield but Kenny has opted for an experienced trio of James McCarthy, Jeff Hendrick and Conor Hourihane.

The back four of Enda Stevens, Shane Duffy, John Egan and Matt Doherty practically picked itself in the injured-enforced absence of captain Seamus Coleman.
