Ireland fan goes viral at World Cup as he calls himself a baguette

Ireland may not be at the World Cup but were represented by a fan in Qatar.

Stephen Kenny and his side were unable to qualify while their fellow group opponents Portugal and Serbia made it to Qatar.

But one Irish fan did not let it stop him attending the World Cup as he went viral.

While a French fan was speaking post game on TV, one Irish World Cup fan interrupted the moment to say 'Je suis une baguette', which translated means 'I am a baguette'.

And Irish fans were laughing at the incident.

One social media user said: "Best Irish performance at this World Cup."

While another joked: "He went in to his leaving cert oral and he was going to use everything he knew"

And another said: "The Irish have finally arrived at #FIFAWorldCup and it's everything I'd expect it to be."
