UEFA Nations League draw in full as Ireland face familiar foes Wales

Stephen Kenny will face Wales, Finland and Bulgaria in his first competitive games for Ireland.

The Boys in Green were today drawn in group four of League B of the Nations League which kicks off in September.

Kenny will be the senior Ireland boss for that campaign and will be in the hot-seat for the summer friendlies if Mick McCarthy’s team lose in the playoff later this month.

Wales are familiar opponents having played Ireland in the last World Cup qualifying campaign and also in the inaugural Nations League campaign.

Ireland have faced Finland five times, winning three of those and drawing twice. The last meeting was a 3-0 friendly win in Helsinki after the 2002 World Cup finals.

Ireland have faced Bulgaria on 10 occasions, winning three times, drawing four and losing on three occasions. The last meeting was a 3-1 friendly win in September.

The games will be played as double-headers in September, October and November and UEFA are due to publish the fixtures by 7.00pm.
