Republic of Ireland international Louise Quinn has signed for Italian side Fiorentina on a one-year contract.
The defender was a free agent after her contract with Arsenal expired after a three-year stay that included a WSL title and a Continental Cup.
Quinn, 30, had been in Ireland during the Covid-19 pandemic but said she was "really, really happy" to sign for the Italian club where she has trained in recent weeks.
Fiorentina were second behind Juventus in Serie A when the season was curtailed due to Covid-19 and they will be part of next season’s Champions League.
It is welcome news for Ireland boss Vera Pauw that the Blessington native is back playing club football with a couple of crucial Euro 2021 qualifiers later this year.
Having played for Peamount United, Quinn had spells with Eskilstuna United in Sweden and English club Notts County before joining the Gunners in the summer of 2017.
