Ireland crime: Garda manhunt underway to find gang who ransacked house in frightening burglary

A Garda manhunt has been launched after a house was ransacked by a gang of thieves who left the property with a number of valuable items.

Gardai in Meath are investigating the burglary which happened between the hours of 12:10pm and 2:15pm on Monday.

It is understood that a number of people broke into the house in the Balrath area, raiding the place top to bottom before stealing some prized possessions and fleeing the scene.

Gardai are looking for the public's help and ask anyone who saw anything suspicious during those times to contact Kells Garda Station immediately.

A Garda spokesman said: "We are investigating a burglary which occurred Monday afternoon in the Balrath area of Kells.

"Some time between 12:10pm and 2:15pm a house was broken into, ransacked and a number of property items taken.

"Anybody who was in the area around this time and who saw any unusual or suspicious vehicle should contact Kells Garda Station on 046-9280820."
