Ireland captain Katie McCabe scored a stunning goal as Arsenal hammered Aston Villa 4-0 in the Women's Super League on Sunday.
McCabe let fly from outside the and her left-footed strike flew into the top corner to put the Gunners three nil up.
The 25-year-old is a regular starter on the left side of the Arsenal team who are in fourth place in the top flight, twelve points behind Chelsea albeit with a game in hand.
Vivianne Miedema gave the lead against Villa before Jordan Nobbs, McCabe and Lisa Evans also found the back of the net.
McCabe was in hot water recently when she and two teammates trekked to Dubai while London was under tier four lockdown restrictions last month.
The Dubliner, who was accompanied by her partner and fellow Ireland international Ruesha Littlejohn, claimed the sun break was for “business” purposes.
One of McCabe’s clubmates tested positive for Covid-19 upon her return, forcing the postponement of a league match against Aston Villa, with Arsenal boss Joe Montemurro saying she was disappointed with those involved. Montemurro revealed that McCabe issued an apology to the squad
