Ireland will be without captain Johnny Sexton and Robbie Henshaw when they take on England in the Autumn Nations Cup at Twickenham on Saturday.
Ireland’s victory over Wales on Friday night has come at a heavy cost, with Sexton going off early with a hamstring injury.
His replacement, Billy Burns, is going through HIA (head injury assessment) protocols, casting doubt over his involvement this weekend, too.
Centre Henshaw, meanwhile, is ruled out with an abductor strain.
There is better news on wing Jacob Stockdale, who was ruled out of the game against Wales but should return to training this week.
France have also announced that they will be without fly-half Romain Ntamack when they face Scotland at Murrayfield on Sunday.
Louis Carbonnel has been called up, with Mathieu Jalibert set to start.
The tournament organisers are due to announce on Monday afternoon how points will be allocated for France’s match against Fiji, which was cancelled due to positive Covid tests in the Fiji camp.
Elsewhere, Italy are expected to be without influential Gloucester back row Jake Polledri for the remainder of the Autumn Nations Cup following a serious knee injury suffered against Scotland in Florence.
