Dara O'Shea gave his full endorsement to Ireland boss Stephen Kenny on another frustrating night for the men in green.
O'Shea, 22, has been one of the positives from this international window having played the full 90 minutes in all three of the games since last Wednesday in Belgrade.
"Everyone's behind the manager," said the West Brom defender. "The other night (against Luxembourg), it was just the players and we have to take that.
"We were prepared right for the games, the manager and staff prepared us right and it was just down to us, we didn't turn up and didn't perform.
"That's what happens at these levels, you can't take your foot off the pedal and you've got to be clinical and not leave a game like that so late to try and score."
O'Shea acknowledged that a 1-1 draw in a friendly with Qatar "doesn't really erase" the bad memory of that damaging World Cup qualifier defeat.
"It was in the back of our minds coming into this game, we knew that something needed to change and I think we played well in spells today," he said.
"Everyone was obviously hurt and embarrassed from the other night and people had a point to prove and wanted to go out and put things right, in a sense. "Obviously three games in succession is tough for us all.
"But at the end of the day we're all elite players and that's our job, we should all be prepared to go out and perform when picked."
