Ireland boss Mick McCarthy has no fresh injury headaches ahead of Denmark clash

Mick McCarthy has no fresh injury concerns heading into tomorrow’s Euro 2020 qualifier with Denmark in Copenhagen.

The squad of 24 players has trained at the match venue, Parken Stadium, and McCarthy insists Ireland have not come here to sit in and defend.

The Group D leaders put their 100% start to the campaign on the line and McCarthy said today: “The blueprint is to play as well as we did against Georgia in March.

“But we’re playing a different side now and Denmark and Switzerland are the two best teams in the group.

“It’ll be more difficult to replicate the Georgia performance against them here. But I know what we’re going to be doing.”

Asked if he would take a point, McCarthy said: “I’ll be thrilled with a draw, but we’re fully aware that Denmark away is a different proposition.”

Skipper Seamus Coleman said: “There’s a great mood in the camp because of the two wins in March.”

But quizzed on the amount of Danish players who have publicly panned Ireland’s tactics, Coleman said: “It’s motivation. We're prepared and let’s see what happens on the pitch.”
