Ireland and Burnley star Robbie Brady being targeted by Celtic

Ireland star Robbie Brady is reportedly a transfer target for Celtic on a pre-contract deal.

The Burnley player is out of contract at Turf Moor in the summer after joining the Premier League side in 2017.

Although plagued by a series of injuries, Brady has appeared 17 times for Sean Dyche's side this season.

But the Dublliner is said to be high on the summer wishlist of under-fire Hoops boss Neil Lennon.

It looks set to be a huge rebuild at the end of the Premiership season at Celtic Park, with their city rivals Rangers cruising to the league title.

A move for Brady is seen by the club as "a key part of his future plans" and Lennon is very "keen" on a deal, report  The Mirror.

The former Manchester United starlet had spells with Hull and Norwich before moving to Burnley.

Greg Taylor has been Lennon's preferred choice at left-back in recent weeks with AC Milan loanee Diego Laxalt left on the bench as he enters the final months of his temporary contract.

A defensive recruitment drive could be on the horizon in Glasgow's east end with Brady's Ireland teammate Shane Duffy likely to return to parent club Brighton and Kris Ajer approaching the final year of his deal.
