Greystones in Co Wicklow is a hub of excitement as the Disney team are in town shooting Disenchanted with stars Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams.
The area has been transformed into a magical movie wonderland and locals are buzzing. The excitement even extends to Ireland’s well known names.
Although she is used to dealing with celebrities and showbiz situations Ireland AM host Anna Daly couldn’t contain herself when her son managed to get in on the Disney action posting several pictures to her Instagram.
Anna lives in Greystones with her husband Ben Ward and their three children James, Euan and Rhys. And it was Rhys who managed to get inside the inner sanctum at Disney getting fantastic access to the set.
In the first pictures posted a couple of days ago Rhys, looking adorable in a red and white striped sweater, and several other children from the area are seen hanging out with a donkey, looking completely mesmerised by the animal as a handler ensures that he doesn’t get spooked.
Anna wrote: “Rhys and some of our neighbours marvel at the Disney fairytale filming in Greystones today. Think it’s probably fair to say that we could all do with a sprinkling of Disney Hollywood magic dust right about now!”
Just a day later her mother got in on the action and Anna posted a picture of the proud granny with Rhys beside a Disney princess carriage with the pair posing as if they are about to get in. Young Rhys looks completely delighted with himself as his grandmother holds his hand.
Commenting on the image Anna said:“My Mam using Rhys as an excuse to soak up some of the Disney magic in Greystones. Pretending it’s for him. I’d never do that.”
Fans were quick to chime in on the pictures labelling them “adorable”. However when they asked how easy it was to get access to the set or the stars if they travelled to the area Anna told them “it’s pot luck if you see anything. I think we’ve just been lucky.”
Disenchanted is due to be released next year. The original movie was nominated for three Oscars and turned Amy Adams into a bona fide A list star.
