Ireland AM star Aidan Power makes 'US debut' following Virgin Media absence

Ireland AM presenter Aidan Power has announced that he has picked up a brand new hosting gig following an absence from Irish TV.

The daytime TV star has been missing from his Ireland AM role for a number of weeks, as fans of the show noticed that he has not graced their screens since August.

And fans have noticed his absence, particularly as show veterans Anna Daly and Laura Woods announced their departure from the show in September.

However, he has since shared that he has been spending his time working in a brand new role, and making his "US debut" to viewers across the Atlantic, Dublin Live reports.

Taking to Instagram, the Irish TV mainstay shared that he has taken on a role commentating for ShowTime Sports.

In the snap he posted, Aidan and American mixed martial arts pro Josh Thompson can be seen commentating on the Bellator267 event at Wembley Arena.

His role saw him giving feedback on the match between welterweights Michael “Venom” Page and Douglas Lima as they went toe-to-toe in a high-stakes match-up.

In the caption of the snap, he thanked Josh for "guiding him through his US debut" while working the event with Showtime Sports.

He also shared an Instagram Reel video of behind the scenes footage of the match.

It is not the first time he has taken to commentating on Bellator events, as he presented a panel of commentary for the 2019 European series.

His post did not shed light on if or when he plans to return to Ireland AM.

The popular TV star first joined the Virgin Media breakfast show back in February 2019.

Aidan also worked on Dublin's 98FM and 2FM in the past, as well as presenting shows such as The Den and The Cafe.

He has silent on the status of his Ireland AM role when contacted by RSVP Live by phone call and text.
