Ireland AM presenters in tears of laughter as unfortunate word appears during live broadcast

Ireland AM presenters were left in stitches after an unfortunate moment during Thursday's show.

Alan Hughes was leading the segment as they did their own version of Countdown with Karen Koster, Tommy Bowe and Laura Woods the contestants.

Up first was a consonant and out come "C", next up we had a vowel and it was a "U"...at this point Alan began to grin in fear of what might come next.

And with a call for another consonant, his fears were realised as he wrote out the letters C, U and M on the board live on TV.

Up next was another consonant and the letter T which potentially could have made it much worse if the word prior had been an N.

But it had all the presenters in tears of laughter, highlighting the perils of live TV.

Taking to Instagram after the show, Alan Hughes said: "When countdown comes to IrelandAM and nearly goes horribly wrong."

But at least everyone saw the funny side with thousands of people since sharing the clip on social media.
