An irate man was caught on CCTV throwing hot coffee at a McDonald's worker - because she asked for his extra cup back.
Joseph DeLuca, 54, ordered a cup of coffee from the Clark Avenue fast food chain's drive-thru in Cleveland, Ohio, and was given two instead.
The female cashier asked for one to be returned, prosecutors said, which lead to a heated argument.
DeLuca stepped out of his car and threw the hot coffee towards the drive-thru counter.
The woman was doused with hot drink, resulting in first-degree burns on her face, neck and shoulders.
She also suffered from blurred vision after the incident which happened last February, prosecutors said.
DeLuca then fled the scene in his car immediately and was arrested two weeks later in Newburgh Heights.
The defendant later pleaded guilty to felony assault charges, Cleveland.com reports.
Erin Stone, assistant Cuyahoga County prosecutor, said: "What is troubling with a case like this is you have someone who is going to work just to do her job, to pay her bills, to make ends meet.
"She asks to see his receipt and this angers him immensely and he throws two cups of coffee in her face."
He entered the plea on Monday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court as he pleaded guilty to a separate incident which he attacked his co-worker who had witnessed him got into a fight with a man in June.
DeLuca is scheduled to be sentenced in December and is facing a maximum sentence of eight years in prison for each charge if convicted, according to reports.
