Iraq secure final 2026 World Cup spot

Iraq World Cup Bolivia Czech Republic DR Congo France Mexico Middle East Norway Senegal

Iraq became the final nation to book their spot at the 2026 World Cup by beating Bolivia 2-1 in Mexico on Tuesday night.
It was Iraq who took the lead in the 10th minute through Ali Al-Hamadi, but Bolivia equalised seven minutes before half time thanks to Moises Paniagua.
Iraq scored their winning goal in the 53rd minute when Aymen Hussein found the net, and they managed to hang on for victory.
The Middle East nation were the last of six play-off winners on Tuesday night, following in the footsteps of Bosnia & Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Turkey, Sweden and DR Congo.
Iraq now go into Group I at the World Cup alongside France, Senegal and Norway.
