Gordon Brown used his appearance at the Iraq inquiry to tell the panel that he supported the invasion and that enough funds were provided for equipment.

Michael White who was political editor of the paper at the outbreak of war in 2003. He says Gordon Brown took a gamble in appearing before the panel with an election so close - but it seems to have paid off.
Joining him is Chris Ames, editor of the Iraq Inquiry Digest website. He says that Brown was very careful to avoid any criticism of his colleagues or Britain's allies.
