Iran says US ‘crossed very big red line’ after Trump’s nuclear facility strikes

  • The United States launched strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities (Fordo, Isfahan, and Natanz) early Sunday, inserting itself into Israel’s war aimed at destroying Iran's nuclear program.
  • Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that the US had crossed a "very big red line" by attacking nuclear facilities and declared diplomacy was no longer an option.
  • Following the US attacks, Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard retaliated by firing 40 missiles at Israel, causing injuries and significant damage to a building in Tel Aviv.
  • Satellite images analysed by The Associated Press showed damage to the Fordo facility’s entryways, while the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran confirmed attacks but insisted its nuclear program would continue.
  • The strikes, which involved bunker-buster bombs and Tomahawk missiles, prompted international calls for diplomacy and raised fears of a wider regional conflict, with Donald Trump asserting Iran's key nuclear sites were "completely and fully obliterated."
