Iran's President Warns Of Severe Response To Aggression

Kissinger addresses House Committee on International Relations about the Middle East peace process.

President Ebrahim Raisi of Iran has issued a stern warning in response to recent events, stating that any action perceived as a threat to Iran's interests will be met with a severe and extensive response. This statement comes in the aftermath of Iran's attack on Israel over the weekend, which Raisi described as an act of 'legitimate defense.'

During a call with Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, President Raisi reaffirmed Iran's position, emphasizing that the recent operation, codenamed 'Honest Promise,' was carried out successfully to punish the aggressor. Raisi made it clear that any future actions against Iran would not go unanswered, promising a painful response against all those involved.

The 'Honest Promise' operation involved a series of drone and missile attacks on Israel, with the majority of the projectiles intercepted by the Israeli military and its allies. In response, Israel has vowed to retaliate and is currently evaluating its options.

Qatar, in its conversation with Iran, emphasized the importance of de-escalation and urged all parties to avoid further conflict in the region. The statement released by Qatar's state news agency highlighted the need for restraint and diplomacy to prevent the situation from escalating further.

The exchange between Iran and Qatar underscores the delicate balance of power and tensions in the region, with both countries seeking to navigate a path towards stability and peace amidst heightened hostilities. The international community will be closely monitoring the developments and working towards a peaceful resolution to prevent further escalation.
