The military and geopolitical relationship between Iran and other global powers such as Russia, North Korea, and communist China continues to surge amid volatile relations with the U.S and prevalent threats to its ally Israel. Shockingly, behind the scenes of this tension are billions of American taxpayers' dollars funding Iran’s activities, both directly and indirectly resulting from the policies under the administration of President Joe Biden which were set in place to reverse those enacted by his predecessor, President Donald Trump.
The U.S continues to grapple with the aftermath of the horrifying massacre of October 7th, the largest slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust. Despite the grim repercussions of this event, America's policy seems to remain in its pre-October 7th state, with a confirmed $10 billion being made accessible to Iran.
Such funding raises questions about its contribution to Iran-sponsored terrorism not only through Hamas in Gaza, but also via Houthis in Yemen, whose missile attacks, drones and attacks on U.S. navy forces are all attributed to Iran. The U.S. forces in Iraq and Syria suffer similar attacks under Iran's directive through Hezbollah. Unchecked aggression against Israelis out of southern Lebanon occurs daily including missile launchings, shellings, and anti-tank missile assaults.
Amid these hostile activities, the U.S. financial contributions continue unabated. Astonishingly, this sees America funding both sides of this volatile conflict, a situation widely cited as absolute insanity.
Despite these alarming facts, President Biden publicly steers clear of blaming Iran, never chastising the dictatorship that runs Iran, never urging the cooling off on their civilians or outright attack cessation. Instead, his focus leans on criticizing Netanyahu's government and the IDF for their bombing actions in Gaza, all the while funding Iran.
This ongoing financial support has been in existence since at least May when the Biden administration secretly entered into a nuclear deal with the Iranian regime. So is the Biden administration to blame for the continuous eruption of conflict in the Middle East? A large part of the American constituency thinks so.
