Iran fires warning at Trump after ships attacked in Strait of Hormuz

  • Iran's parliament speaker, Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf, declared the country is "just getting started" in its battle for control over the Strait of Hormuz, accusing the United States and its allies of jeopardising shipping security.
  • Donald Trump launched 'Project Freedom' to reopen the thoroughfare to global trade, issuing a warning to Iran against interference.
  • Following Trump's initiative, several merchant ships reported explosions or fires in the Gulf, and an oil port in the UAE was reportedly attacked by Iranian missiles.
  • The US military claimed to have destroyed six small Iranian military boats and stated that two merchant ships successfully navigated the Strait with Navy guided-missile destroyer support.
  • Iran, however, denied that any crossings had taken place in recent hours, contradicting the US military's assertion.
