IRA could get involved in Drogheda drug gang war after tragic Keane Mulready-Woods murder

It is feared that the IRA could get involved in the Drogheda drug gang war that led to the tragic murder of Keane Mulready-Woods.

The 17-year-old body's was dismembered in a murder that shocked the whole nation this week.

Detectives believe Keane was murdered and cut into pieces at a house before his severed body parts were dumped in different locations as part of a drug gang feud, Mirror.co.uk reports.

Footage has emerged showing a masked man with a knife claiming to know who killed Keane Mulready-Woods in Drogheda, Co Louth and threatening to show up at their home, it is reported.

In the video, the masked man claims to be from Belfast’s Falls Road, which is synonymous with republicanism in the Northern Irish city.

In the video seen by the Daily Star, the masked man wields a knife and says: "We know exactly who this is mate (the murderers).

“We will be there tonight (at your house) – I promise you on my man’s life. You’re dealing with the boys from the Falls Road in Belfast.”

Meanwhile, it is claimed the chief suspect in the gruesome murder had threatened to shoot a rival shortly before the killing.

In a video recording obtained by Dublin Live, the suspect is heard vowing to "put a bullet in the head" of the rival.

The rival was so terrified by threats and the firebombing of his house in Drogheda, Co Louth, that he fled the country.

BUGZY MALONE TRIBUTE TO KEANE MULREADY-WOODS

The recording was obtained by a reporter days after Keane was abducted, murdered and dismembered in a drug gang hit.

It is thought that Keane was recording video on a mobile phone when the main suspect was recently attacked as he left a gym, RTE reports.

No-one has been arrested for Keane's killing as tensions remain high in the town and gardai fear further violence.

Keane, who was reportedly involved in organised crime, was last seen alive at 6pm on Sunday.

It is understood he was abducted in the Ballsgrove area of the town and taken to a house in Rathmullen, where he was tortured, murdered and his body dismembered.

After a number of appeals from family on social media, the teen's severed limbs were found in a black sports bag on a pavement in north Dublin - about 30 miles from where he was last seen alive - just before 10pm on Monday.

The remains were dumped near a rival gangster's home in Moatview estate in Coolock.

At about 1.30am on Wednesday, a bag containing his heads, hands and feet were found in a burning Volvo in Drumcondra, north Dublin.

Detectives were still looking for the teen's torso.

Officers had warned Keane on January 5 that his life was in danger.

The killing has forced the Irish General Election to focus on gangland crime.

On Friday, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan met with senior gardai in Drogheda on Friday.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Varadkar said: "I want to express my revulsion and condemnation of the very serious crime that has taken place here and also to assure the people of Drogheda that the Government is 100 per cent behind them and that we are going to get these people behind bars.

"I want to say to people across Ireland and here in Drogheda that crime doesn't pay, we will get these people behind bars and make this town safe again."
