Ipswich vs Sunderland team news as Carl Winchester comes in for Jack Diamond

Lee Johnson made one change to the Black Cats side that started the weekend win against Shrewsbury Town on Wearside.

January signing Carl Winchester returned to the starting line-up, replacing Jack Diamond who dropped to the bench.

Also included amongst the subs was Lynden Gooch, whose isolation period ended yesterday following a positive Covid test.

Gooch took the place of Danny Graham on the bench, with the former Blackburn Rovers striker dropping out of the matchday squad.

Ipswich boss Paul Lambert made four changes to the line-up which began the Tractor Boys’ home defeat at the hands of Peterborough United on Saturday.

Luke Woolfenden, Jon Nolan, Luke Thomas, and Kayden Jackson, came in for Aristote Nsiala, Teddy Bishop, Alan Judge, and Aaron Drinan.

Andre Dozzell, who was sent off at the Stadium of Light in November, started for Ipswich, while Sunderland’s Grant Leadbitter – who scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in that game two months ago – lined up against one of his former clubs.
