Arsenal were back in Premier League action at Portman Road on Sundau. After their heroics in Madrid on Wednesday, the Gunners beat Ipswich to delay the Liverpool title party. The Champions League is clearly the priority for the Gunners from here on in but Mikel Arteta will be pleased to keep momentum going before the first leg of their semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain in two weeks’ time.
Defeat for Arsenal against Ipswich could have seen Liverpool crowned champions later this afternoon if Arne Slot’s leaders had then gone on and beat Leicester. Despite the herculean shift his side put in at the Bernabeu in midweek, Arteta named a strong side that included Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice. Saka was lucky to avoid a bad injury after after a horror tackle in the first half.
Ipswich look doomed to the Championship but their relegation was not longer be confirmed after West Ham only drew with Southampton yesterday. Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Simon Collings at Portman Road.

Simon Collings at Portman Road
14:55 , Giuseppe MuroInteresting to see if Saka comes out after the break. I’m not sure he was moving freely after that Davis challenge.
Here’s that red card. Saka was lucky to avoid a bad injury...

Simon Collings at Portman Road
14:37 , Giuseppe MuroNow Ipswich are down to 10, this could get ugly.
Red card!
14:34 , Giuseppe Muro32 mins: Davis rakes his studs down the back Saka’s ankle and is shown a straight red card. That looks a nasty one. Saka is still down receiving treatment.
Simon Collings at Portman Road

Simon Collings at Portman Road
14:01 , Giuseppe MuroIpswich fans know they don’t have long left in the Premier League - Kieran McKenna admitted as much in his programme notes today - but they’re clearly determined to make the most of it. Great atmosphere, here, before kick-off.

Arteta: We have to focus on the Premier League
13:48 , Giuseppe MuroMikel Arteta speaking to Sky Sports on his team selection: “Some for different reasons. Some players couldn't start again after the Madrid game, some fit the game we expect.
“We evaluate everything with the physios relating to what we need to win the game and be better than Ipswich.
"Very important, now we have to focus on the Premier League and show that consistency to come here and do well.
"The performances [in recent weeks] were there, but very small details, results have slipped away from us. Opponents are difficult so this will be a tough match.”
Arteta expects transfer window 'surprises' as plans change
13:43 , Giuseppe MuroMikel Arteta believes new sporting director Andrea Berta will bring “more ideas” and “surprises” to Arsenal’s summer transfer plans.
The Gunners hired Berta at the end of last month after previously spending almost 12 years at Atletico Madrid.
Arteta has now revealed how he hopes the arrival of Berta could have a positive impact by bringing a fresh perspective on possible signings.
“Those [summer transfer plans] were already discussed with him,” said Arteta.
“But yes, I hope that he has many more ideas, plans, surprises, positive ones. And his experience, his creativity, his intuition as well to help us make the right calls.
“I think it’s an opportunity. Somebody else comes in with different ideas, different methods, different ways of working and other priorities as well in the way that they work. And I think this makes us better.”
Arsenal players are out for their warm-up...

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna to Sky Sports on Liam Delap being on the bench again: “He has a nasty rib injury from the Wolves game.
“He has done well to make himself available, having him off the bench is possible but he's not quite ready to start.
"We're a bit shorter than we want it to be. But everyone available is fully committed."
Arteta hints at 'progress' over new contract for Partey
13:27 , Giuseppe MuroMikel Arteta has hinted that he would be open to Thomas Partey signing a new contract at Arsenal.
Partey is into the final few months of his current deal, which is due to expire at the end of this season.
Aasked if there has been any progress over a new contract for Partey, Arteta said: “Yes, there is progress with all the players. I’ll leave that to Andrea [Berta] and the club to decide and to talk about.”
Champions League could be key for Arsenal in new contract talks

Havertz set to hand Arsenal injury boost
13:11 , Giuseppe MuroKai Havertz is set to hand Arsenal a major injury boost after manager Mikel Arteta revealed the striker is on course to make his comeback "earlier than expected".
Arsenal have managed to navigate their way to the Champions League semi-finals without a recognised striker after Havertz tore his hamstring in February.
It was expected the Germany international would be out for the rest of the season.
But Arteta is confident Havertz - who is still the club's top scorer with 15 goals this season - would be available if Arsenal see off Paris St Germain to reach the final in Munich on June 1.
Asked if Havertz has an outside chance to play in the the semi-finals - first, at the Emirates on April 30, and then in Paris eight days later - Arteta said: "For the semi-finals? I think that is too close.
"But if I have to bet on him (being available) earlier than expected I would say, 'Yes'.
"The way he works, every day he is in the gym, pushing everybody, and I don't think you can hold him back any longer."
Simon Collings at Portman Road
13:05 , Giuseppe MuroPerhaps a nod to PSG with Arteta’s team today?
Declan Rice starts as the No6, which he may have to do in the first leg of Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final because Thomas Partey is suspended.
Ipswich make change from a draw at Chelsea last week as Jacob Greaves returns in defence.
Liam Delap continues on the bench as he battles a rib issue.
So Mikel Arteta makes just three changes to his side at Portman Road.
Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and William Saliba all start for Arsenal.
Ben White and Kieran Tierney come in as the two full-backs, while the other change sees Leandro Trossard come in and Thomas Partey drop to the bench.
That means Mikel Merino reverts to his usual central midfield role.

Arteta makes Liverpool title vow
12:24 , Giuseppe MuroMikel Arteta has insisted Arsenal will not allow Liverpool the opportunity to be crowned Premier League champions this afternoon.
Liverpool will claim the title with five matches remaining if Arsenal lose against Ipswich at Portman Road and they see off Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
But Arteta said: "We will make sure that we win the game against Ipswich, and that (Liverpool winning the league) doesn't happen."

Head to head history and results
12:08 , Giuseppe MuroIpswich wins: 18
Draws: 11
Arsenal wins: 31
Prediction
12:00 , Giuseppe MuroIpswich need to come out the traps and test Arsenal and Liam Delay is more than capable of doing that.
However, that will play right into Arsenal's hands and they should have little trouble breaking through a leaky defence.
This could be an entertaining clash to kick off the day.
Arsenal to win, 3-1.
Arsenal team news
11:52 , Giuseppe MuroDeclan Rice and Bukayo Saka are among those who could be rested, as Mikel Arteta looks to manage minutes before the first leg against Paris Saint-Germain in two weeks’ time.
Ben White could come in at right-back in place of Jurrien Timber and Kieran Tierney could come in on the other flank in place of Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Arsenal will be without Jorginho (ribs) and Riccardo Calafiori (knee).
Ipswich team news
11:44 , Giuseppe MuroJaden Philogene is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury.
Liam Delap has been struggling with a rib injury and will be assessed, while Omari Hutchinson and Kalvin Phillips remain out.
