The wait for Troy Parrott's first goal in an Ipswich Town shirt goes on after the Tottenham striker played for a sixth time without scoring for the League One side.
Parrott started for the Tractor Boys in their 2-1 win against Doncaster Rovers yesterday but again did not find the target as his long wait for a first goal this season went on.
The 19-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at Millwall and made 15 appearances for the Lions without scoring, before returning to Tottenham to then secure a loan move to Ipswich for the remainder of the season.
He has since played six times for the League One side, but is yet to find the net, making it 21 games in total in all competitions this season without a goal.
Despite this, Parrott has been backed to be a success at Ipswich Town by his new team-mate Tomas Holy, who has been impressed by what he has seen from the striker, even without him scoring goals in recent weeks.
“I think he’s the kind of striker we needed”, Holy was quoted as saying by the East Anglian Times.
“With Nors [Norwood] as well we have two very aggressive, very passionate, cheeky strikers.
“Honestly, I wouldn’t like to defend against them. I’m really pleased I am on their side!"
And Holy reckons the goals will come for Parrott as he delivered his verdict on the 19-year-old Spurs forward, who has played four times for Tottenham at first-team level.
“He [Parrott] is still very, very young, but he’s a clever, smart, cheeky player," Holy added.
“He’s not afraid to go one-v-one or two-v-two. It’s only a matter of time before Troy scores, in my opinion.”
