The January transfer window is little more than a week away and EFL clubs are gearing up to begin trading in hope of sparking a boost for the second half of the season.
By their recent standards, Bristol Rovers are expected to have a relatively quiet window with Joey Barton expecting a couple of players to go either way through the doors of the Mem.

Ipswich make a bid and take Aussie on trial
Second-placed Ipswich Town have been admirers of Peterborough United star Jack Taylor for some time and the Tractor Boys are understood to be making another run at signing the midfielder.
Ipswich tried to sign the 24-year-old – who has made 19 appearances this season, scoring three goals – in the summer, but their attempts were knocked back by Posh.
However, the East Anglian Daily Times reports Ipswich have made a fresh enquiry for the Republic of Ireland under-21 international.
Midfield is set to be an area of focus in the market for Ipswich with Panutche Camara and Dominic Ball both on the injury list.
Another player of interest to manager Kieran McKenna is Australia international Massimo Luongo, whose contract at Middlesbrough is coming to an end next month. The 30-year-old is on trial in Suffolk in hope of earning a deal.
Charlton risk losing Crystal Palace starlet
Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is enjoying a decent loan spell at Charlton Athletic and he posed a threat when the Gas visited The Valley on Saturday.
The 20-year-old was a bright spark in an Addicks team short of confidence after a poor run of form that led to the sacking of Ben Garner.
A win over Premier League Brighton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday has lifted the mood at The Valley, but a report suggests they could lose Rak-Sakyi in January.
Alan Nixon, of The Sun, reports he could be recalled from his loan and sent for a stint in the Championship until the end of the season, with Millwall and Hull showing interest.

MK Dons are on the verge of naming their successor to Liam Manning according to reports.
Leeds United first-team coach Mark Jackson has widely been reported as the man atop the Dons' list to take charge at Stadium MK.
Football Insider writes Jackson has been offered the manager's job and an agreement is close to being struck.

Cheltenham Town are eager to add more attacking firepower in the January window and Bristol City prospect Sam Bell is understood to be one of their top targets.
