Promising Ipswich Town prospect Brett McGavin can make a name for himself at Somerset Park.
So says Ayr boss Mark Kerr, who has hailed the deadline day signing as a great piece of business for United.
McGavin, 21, has joined The Honest Men on loan for the rest of the season after becoming the latest Tractor Boy to head north.
And Kerr reckons he can follow in the footsteps of Portman Road teammates Aaron Drinan and Corrie Ndaba in making a big impression.
The boss told the Ayrshire Post: "Brett is a good talent and one we know well having looked at him this time last year.
"He likes to sit at the base of midfield and has a good range of passing.
"He's been in and around the Ipswich first team and should be able to add plenty to us.
"He's comfortable on the ball and has a lot of very good attributes and I think he'll be an excellent addition.
"When you also look at our squad, it also gives us that extra option in the middle of the park which will be important going forward."
McGavin has made eight senior starts and one sub appearance for Ipswich and signed a new two year deal in September.
He joins Ndaba on loan at Somerset until the end of the current campaign, with the Irish defender making an impressive start since joining last month.
