Three men have been charged with murder over the shooting death of Carlo Stewart in North Booval on Tuesday evening.

Police said the 31-year-old was shot twice after a property dispute escalated into a brawl between nine people on Baden Jones Way at about 5:00 pm.

Police said some of the men were armed with baseball bats and one had a gun.

Neighbours reported hearing multiple gunshots during the melee.

In addition to the man who was killed, a 29-year-old man from Heritage Park suffered critical head injuries. He was still recovering in the Princess Alexandra hospital on Wednesday night.

The three will face Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Detective Inspector Heath McQueen said police were still looking for more suspects.
