IPL viewership up by 5% for first 51 matches

NEW DELHI: With the Tata IPL nearing the finals with 17 matches left, the cricket fever has set a new record in viewership, according to the official broadcaster, Disney Star.

The broadcaster said it continues to achieve remarkable viewership milestones on the broadcast channel, Star Sports, with the TV reach of the first 51 matches at 51 crore, a 5% growth over the previous highest in 2019, according to the latest data released by BARC.

Additionally, the broadcaster has also recorded an impressive total watch time of 35,600 crore minutes, a growth of 18% compared to the 2023 edition.

Further, the broadcaster has recorded a commendable 18% surge in match ratings (TVR) for the first 51 matches compared to the 2023 edition.
