IPL 2025: DC vs LSG - Can Delhi Capitals level the head-to-head record?

As Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) gear up for their opening clash in IPL 2025 on Monday, all eyes will be on the intense rivalry between the two teams.

Despite being a relatively new fixture in the IPL, their encounters have already produced some thrilling moments. In the five matches played between them, LSG hold a slight edge with three victories, while DC have managed to win twice.

Both teams have displayed identical form last season, playing 14 matches each and securing seven wins with seven losses, maintaining a balanced 50% win rate. This consistency from both sides sets the stage for another fiercely contested encounter, as DC look to level the head-to-head record while LSG aim to extend their lead.

Head-to-Head: LSG 3-2 DC

Delhi Capitals enter the match with revamped leadership as Axar Patel takes charge, despite the presence of experienced players like Faf du Plessis and KL Rahul, who recently joined from LSG. The Capitals boast a balanced lineup featuring power hitters and reliable bowlers, including Mitchell Starc, T Natarajan, and Kuldeep Yadav. Adding to the firepower, Karun Nair, Tristan Stubbs, Sameer Rizvi, and Ashutosh Sharma form a formidable middle order.

For LSG, the spotlight will be on Rishabh Pant, who made headlines with his high-profile move from DC for a whopping Rs 27 crore. With Mitchell Marsh, David Miller, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran forming the backbone of their batting lineup, LSG will hope to maintain their edge in the rivalry.

However, the team faces challenges with their pace attack, as key Indian bowlers like Mayank Yadav, Avesh Khan, and Akash Deep are undergoing rehabilitation. The inclusion of Shardul Thakur bolsters the bowling department, complemented by young talents Rajvardhan Hangargekar and Ravi Bishnoi.

With evenly matched squads and recent form favouring neither side, this encounter is poised to go down to the wire. Fans can expect high-energy action and tactical brilliance as DC and LSG battle it out to claim the upper hand in their head-to-head rivalry.
