NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bowl first against Gujarat Titans in their Indian Premier League encounter on Sunday.
"The wicket will be better later, so we will like to chase. With so many high scores, the nature of this game has changed. Our bowlers have been exceptional in the last two games," said du Plessis, elucidating the rationale behind their decision.
Du Plessis also emphasized the significance of the return of Glenn Maxwell to the playing eleven, stating, "Maxwell comes back in, we have some firepower in the middle-order."
On the other hand, GT skipper Shubman Gill expressed his views on the pitch and the team's strategy, stating, "Would have chased as well, looks like a really good wicket. Need to put a good total on the board."
Gill highlighted the team's resolve to capitalize on their batting strength and asserted, "This is the right time to peak for us."
