Hours before the IPL 2024 final at Chennai's MA Chidamabaram Stadium on Sunday, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins and Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) skipper Shreyas Iyer engaged in a friendly banter, trying to remind each other of what to expect in the title clash.
In a video shared by the IPL on social media, the two captains exchanged a few words before the battle on the ground.

"Dear Pat, today I thought it might be fun to drop you a little note. First off, let me just say you have done an amazing job leading the Orange Army this season," said Iyer, who is vying to become only the second captain after Gautam Gambhir to lift the IPL trophy for KKR.
Gambhir was the skipper when KKR won the trophy in 2012 and 2014.
"This season, we have given you a tough time. Let me remind you, you face the same opponents at a different venue. But today you will be up against colours that will be familiar to you - purple and gold," added Iyer, trying to get under the skin of his rival, who used to play for KKR at one point of time.
"Here's to a thrilling final. May the best team win! And by best, I mean ours."

Cummins was not to be left behind.
Replying to Shreyas's words, the Australian said: Hey Shreyas! Thanks for the little note, kind of you indeed. You too have led by example and a lot of swag. But I can't help but think about our stellar win at this very ground.
"I hope the KKR boys know what to expect come Sunday. You might say you've given us a tough time this season, but let me assure you, the Orange Army has saved the best for the last," concluded Cummins, who can become the second Australian after David Warner to lead SRH to an IPL title.
SRH won their only IPL trophy in 2016.
