IPL 2022: Kane Williamson to miss SRH's last game, flies back to NZ for birth of his child

MUMBAI: Sunrisers Hyderabad will be without captain Kane Williamson for their last game of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season against Punjab Kings on Sunday.

The Sunrisers said that in a statement on their official Twitter handle on Wednesday.

“Official update: Our skipper Kane Williamson is flying back to New Zealand, to usher in the latest addition to his family. Here’s everyone at the #Riser camp wishing Kane Williamson and his wife a safe delivery and a lot of happiness!” the statement read

Enduring poor form, Williamson scored 216 runs in 13 matches at an average of 19.63, with just one fifty this season.

The Sunrisers need to win their last game to harbour their slender chances of making it to the playoffs. SRH are currently at the eighth spot in the table, with 12 points after 13 matches.
