After two consecutive losses, Royal Challengers Bangalore needed a hero to get themselves out of a rut of their own making in the IPL. They found more than one on Sunday night — skipper Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel.

Harshal grabbed the focus with a hat-trick, decimating Mumbai Indians’ line-up along the way in Dubai.
“This is the first-time I’ve taken a hat-trick in my life,” the thrilled 30-year-old said. “I have not done this even in a school game. I have been on hat-tricks six times in the IPL, but this is the first time I’ve gotten one. It will take some time to sink in,” he gushed.
With his array of slower ones, Harshal gets the ball to dip and has a tricky off-cutter, all of which have seen him rise to the top of the bowling chart.
He said the wicket of Kieron Pollard was most satisfying.
“Because it was a bluff. In the meeting we had planned to set him up by first bowling wide and following it up with a yorker which he might miss. Rather than bowling a yorker, I bowled a slower one,” he explained.
