iPhone users treated to dozens of new emoji

New emojis coming in an update for iOS (Picture: Apple)

iPhone users can finally tell the world about their potted plants or accordion skills with the release of over 100 new emoji.

Additions include the “pinched finger” and a wide variety of options including ninjas, bubble tea and a boomerang.

The update also goes further in providing for more gender inclusive options, including a woman in a tuxedo and a person feeding a baby.

It introduces the horizontal blue, pink and white stripes of the transgender flag to the long list of country flags, something that had been available on Android.

To get these emoji and other features such as new wallpapers, Apple users simply need to update their devices to iOS 14.2.

The full list of emoji can be found here.

Unicode, which oversees character encoding, warned earlier this year that due to Covid-19, it may not be able to release any new emoji until 2022.
