They’re some of the most popular smartphones around the world, but if you use an iPhone, you may have experienced issues this week.
Several iPhone users have reported that their smartphone keeps signing them out of their Outlook app, following the latest iOS update.
Taking to Twitter, one user said: “Ever since updating iOS on my iPhone. My outlook/hotmail keeps making me resign in on my phone.”
Another said: “Microsoft do you have an ongoing issue with Hotmail accounts? Cos everyday this week I’ve been asked on my iPhone to re insert my password to the account for it to be able to work. Frustrating is a definitely the most appropriate word for how I’m feeling right now.”
And one wrote: “Why has every single one of my Hotmail or Outlook accounts kept asking for the password on my iPhone for the past few days... and now won’t let me enter the passwords and says my account can’t be accessed??!”
Mirror Online has also experienced the issue this week.
The issue appears to be with Outlook itself, rather than with Apple.
Yesterday, Microsoft tweeted: “We're investigating an issue in which users may be receiving errors when attempting to access http://Outlook.com.”
Microsoft claims that the issue has now been resolved, although the reason for the problem remains unclear.
It said: “Since our last update, our monitoring continues to show the service is stable with the majority of users having access to Outlook.com. As we continue to have a small number of users still reporting issues and our investigation into root cause is ongoing, we will keep this notification active.”
