iPhone users claim their phones are overheating following the iOS 14 update

Apple's latest iOS 14 update has caused some phones to overheat in an unexpected side effect, according to many users.

From newly designed widgets to pinned conversations, Apple’s latest iOS 14 update is jampacked with exciting new features.

But many users who have updated their iPhone to iOS 14 have reported their smartphone overheating.

Following the launch of iOS 14 last week, several users have taken to Twitter with claims that their iPhones are overheating.

One user wrote: “Anybody else’s iPhone running SUPER hot after iOS 14?”

Another added: “Finished upgrading my iPhone 6s to iOS 14 about two hours ago. Now the battery is charging extremely slowly and the phone is constantly hot to the touch. What gives?!”

And one said: “Anyone else’s iPhone getting super hot and having serious battery drain after upgrading to iOS 14??  Ive never run out of juice this fast on my 11 Pro Max.”

In response to one complaint, Apple’s Support team reassured that it’s normal for iPhones to become warm after an update.

It explained: “It’s normal for the iPhone to become warm after an update like this. Reach out to us if you continue to have these issues after 48 hours.”

Mirror Online has contacted Apple for further comment.

Apple released the iOS 14 update last week, having given fans a glimpse at the operating system back in June.

Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, said: “Together with iPhone, iOS is central to how we navigate our lives and stay connected, and we are making it even more powerful and easier to use in iOS 14, with the biggest update ever to the Home Screen.

“We are thrilled to see the incredible ways developers are taking advantage of widgets and App Clips to create new experiences that we think customers are going to love.”
