iPhone users can download iOS 15 early- here's how

The newest iOS 15 update was unveiled during Apple's WWDC 2021 event and showed a bunch of new and exciting features coming to the iPhone.

Apple fans and iPhone users now have the opportunity to try out the new iOS update as the public beta becomes available to download for everyone.

While the developers beta is available to download and gets newer features quicker than the public beta, it isn't available for every iPhone user to download, therefore, the public beta is probably the better option if you're someone excited to try the new iOS 15 features.

If you decide to download the public beta of iOS 15 on your device, it's important to note that this is a beta version and not the final release- there may be some bugs and glitches that could make your phone unsuitable to use.

What you need before you download the iOS 15 public beta

Those wanting the new iOS software on their phone must sign up to the Beta Software Program (Apple)

To avoid any issues make sure to backup your data to the iCloud before downloading the beta version of iOS 15 just in case the worst happens and you need to reset your phone.

You must also have a compatible device to download the public beta of iOS 15, luckily, it's available for most modern iPhones from the iPhone 6S to the iPhone 12- the iPhone SE and iPod Touch (7th Gen) are also compatible.

Before you start initiating the download, you must have a public beta profile, this can be done by visiting the Apple Beta Software Program website on Safari and pressing on 'Sign up'.

How to download the iOS 15 public beta

1. After entering your Apple ID details you'll be asked to download a 'software profile'. This is relatively easy to do.

2. Head into the settings app on your device, there you will find a new section called 'Profile Download' positioned directly below you Apple ID settings at the very top.

3. Tap on 'Profile Download' then tap 'Install' , afterwards you'll be asked to reboot your device which you should do.

4. Once rebooted, the iOS 15 update should be available and can be downloaded as if it was a normal software update.

5. Head to Settings > General > Software Update and tap install (You may need to enter your phone passcode).

6. Once installed, your phone should restart on its own, after it boots up you should have iOS 15- you can double-check by heading back into Settings > General > About and looking at Software Version which should be the second row from the top down.
