iPhone users are showing off their new home screen layouts - here's how to change yours

If you use Twitter, it’s likely your feed has been filled with iPhone users showing off their new home screen layouts.

Apple has introduced a new way to organise your home screen in its iOS 14 update, with brand new widgets.

Apple explained: “Widgets have been totally redesigned to give you more information at a glance — and now you can add them to your Home screen. Choose from different sizes and arrange however you like.”

Several iPhone owners have taken to Twitter to show off their new home screens.

One user wrote: “Tedious, yet fun. I'm proud of myself.”

Another added: “If anyone cares he’s my #ios14 layout :) I actually love these.”

And one joked: “iOS14 update really tested my patience but I created my masterpiece.”

If you’ve downloaded the iOS 14 update and are looking to update your home screen, thankfully it’s very simple.

How to use iPhone home screen widgets

1. Download the iOS 14 update. You can do this in Settings > General > Software Update

2. On your home screen, long-press the screen in a blank space until your apps start wiggling

3. Tap the + icon in the top let corner

4. You’ll now see the available widgets

6. Drag the widgets around the reposition them

7. Tap Done in the top right corner to set your widget

You can also create your own Smart Stack-style widgets by dragging up to 10 of the same size on top of each other

Apple has also included a new ‘Smart Stacks’ option, that will automatically cycle through different widgets to show you the most relevant information throughout the day.

To create a Smart Stack, drag up to 10 widgets of the same size on top of each other.
