Whether it’s a picture of your passport or a screenshot of a hilarious meme, there are often times when you need to find that one photo in your camera album.
But the days of endlessly scrolling through your photos are a thing of the past, thanks to a genius iPhone trick.
The trick allows you to search your photos and find that precise image within seconds.
Apple explained: “The Photos app makes it easy to find photos of a person or thing. You can also search for places and events.”
To use the Search function, open the Photos app, and tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom right of the screen.
Type a term in the search bar, and the app will use machine learning to analyse your photos and find those that match the search term.
This allows you to search for everything from people to events, as well as specific things.
Apple said: “Photos recognises scenes and objects. Search for a term like "lake" and then select a category result to see all of your photos that match.”
The Search tab also suggests moments, people, places, categories and groups for you to search.
While you might worry about the privacy and security of such a function, thankfully Apple reassures that your photos are safe.
It added: “When you search your photos, all of the face recognition and scene and object detection are done completely on your device. Learn more about photos and your privacy.”
