iPhone 17 accessories — here are the rumored new cases and much more

IPhone 17 Pro case renders .

In less than two weeks, Apple will debut the iPhone 17 series during its Awe Dropping event. Alongside the new smartphones, Apple will more than likely release a bevy of accessories, from cases to chargers and more.

Based on rumors that we've seen, here are the accessories we expect Apple to launch with the iPhone 17 lineup.

Bumper case

Apple is reportedly considering reviving the bumper case specifically for the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air. The bumper case launched alongside the iPhone 4 in 2010 and only covered the sides of the phone while leaving the back exposed.

"I believe Apple has at least considered/tested a new case for the slimmer iPhone this year that surrounds the edges but doesn’t cover the back," Bloomberg's Mark Gurman tweeted.

The original bumpers were discontinued after two years largely thanks to “Antennagate." That flaw caused iPhone 4 owners to drop calls when they held their phones in a way that covered the antenna bands. That likely shouldn't be a problem in 2025.

Crossbody Strap

Beyond MagSafe cases, Apple could be bringing a new magnetic accessory in the form of the "Crossbody Strap." This strap, according to leaker Majin Bu, would connect to Apple-made iPhone 17 cases via a lanyard hole and use magnets to close the loop.

This way you can securely strap it to your body or your wrist.

It will apparently be available in multiple colors, styles and materials, including silicon and nylon — just like the Apple Watch Sport Loop Bands.

Liquid Silicon cases

In another leak from Majin Bu, Apple will allegedly have a set of cases called "Liquid Silicone" that will come in eight colors, a matte finish and "soft-touch texture."

These cases are supposedly MagSafe compatible.

Silicon can be problematic as it degrades thanks to skin oil and fingerprints. Meaning that they can become sticky and can attract dirt and lint. But perhaps Apple has figured that out for these cases.

Smart battery case

The iPhone 17 Air is supposed to feature a meager 2,900mAh battery thanks to the skinny design. Reportedly, you won't be able to go a single day without charging the model.

To combat this problem Apple is allegedly going to bring back the battery case, which was originally introduced with the iPhone 6s, but was discontinued with the iPhone 12 when MagSafe arrived.

Hopefully, this doesn't mean Apple is stripping MagSafe from the iPhone 17 Air.

Techwoven cases

A couple of years ago, Apple introduced the FineWoven cases that were a disaster due to the cases' complete lack of durability. The cases were supposed to be more sustainable but were found to quickly take on damage as Tom's Guide UK Editor in Chief Jeff Parsons found after using the case for a week.

According to leaker, Majin Bu, Apple has apparently solved those issues and is returning with a new similar case dubbed TechWoven. Allegedly these new cases "overcome the shortcomings of the controversial FineWoven." All of the sustainibility with improved durabiltiy.

Color options are said to include black, brown, blue, green and purple with two lanyard holes and MagSafe compatibility.
