Iphone 16 Design Changes Revealed In Latest Leaked Images

Apple's iPhone design head to work with Jony Ive at LoveFrom - Bloomberg News

As more details emerge about the iPhone 16, the latest leaked images have confirmed significant design changes coming to Apple’s upcoming smartphone. Renowned Apple leaker has shared exclusive images showcasing the design of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Apple is anticipated to unveil this range in early September 2024, but many of the new features can already be glimpsed.

The leaked images reveal machined ‘blanks’ provided to peripheral manufacturers before a phone’s release. These blanks aid in designing cases, holders, and accessories tailored to the device's exact dimensions and buttons. While the software functionality remains unseen, the hardware showcased indicates Apple’s revamped approach to the iPhone.

One notable addition across all four iPhone models is the Action Button, replacing the mute switch from previous models. This programmable button can be customized to open a specific app or execute a designated action when pressed, offering a unique feature that developers can leverage for enhanced user experiences.

Another significant change is the introduction of a second button, the Capture Button, across all iPhone 16 models. Apple has opted for a capacitive button design, eliminating moving parts and relying on haptic feedback to simulate a physical button press. This move aligns with Apple’s vision of a ‘portless and buttonless’ smartphone.

The camera lens arrangement on the rear camera has also been updated, transitioning from a diagonal layout to a vertical arrangement of two lenses. While this change may not affect picture quality, it enables the recording of stereoscopic video, enhancing the viewing experience on devices like the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset.

Additionally, Apple plans to integrate generative AI tools into iOS 18, with further details expected at the upcoming Worldwide Developer Conference in June. The iPhone 16 family is likely to launch in its traditional early September timeframe, offering consumers a glimpse into Apple’s latest innovations.
