IPC Media nominated for 15 AOP awards

NME: 21 April 2011
IPC publishes the NME

IPC Media, the magazine publisher behind NME and Marie Claire, has scooped 15 nominations for the Association of Online Publishers (AOP) awards for 2011.

The annual industry awards for digital innovation attracted a record number of entries this year – up 25% on 2010 – prompting AOP director Lee Baker to declare: "The fact that we've received so many entries confirms that the digital publishing industry is back on its feet."

Guardian News & Media – which publishes MediaGuardian.co.uk – picked up 14 nominations, second only to IPC with 15. IPC's nominations include the Marie Claire Beauty app in the mobile category, Instyle.co.uk and Look.co.uk for consumer website of the year, and a nod for the consumer digital publisher award.

The Guardian's WikiLeaks reporters are nominated in the editorial team category, while the Zeitgeist and Eyewitness iPad app are shortlisted for innovation of the year award.

The Daily Telegraph publisher, Telegraph Media Group, received 11 nominations, closely followed by United Business Media with nine, and Reed Business Information, Bauer Media and CBS Interactive all have eight nominations.

The AOP awards 2011 take place on 9 June at the Roundhouse in Camden, London.

Here's the full list of nominees.
