iPads stolen from school when pupils need them to learn from home

A number of iPads, which are crucial to help children learn while schools are closed during the pandemic, have been stolen from a Cardiff school.

A burglar is believed to have smashed through a window at the back of the Hywel Dda primary school in Ely before making off with half a dozen iPads in the early hours of Wednesday.

The school said the IT equipment was "vital" to enable children to continue to learn from home and the theft had affected the whole school.

South Wales Police is appealing for anyone with information to come forward while a spokesman for the school is pleading people to help catch the culprit.

They said: "During this time technology and digital provision is vital so that children can continue to learn and stay in touch whilst schools are closed. This theft has impacted on the whole school community and I encourage anyone with information to please come forward and report it to the police."
