Iowa State (4-2) vs. Texas Tech (3-3) Game Preview
Why Iowa State Will Win
The defensive front is playing as well or better than any in the Big 12, and the passing attack is proving it can keep up with anyone.
The Cyclone defensive front is making play after play behind the line, with eight or more tackles for loss in the last three weeks and two sacks or more in every game. The Texas Tech offensive line – partly as a function of the offensive style – doesn’t give up a slew of big things in the backfield, but QB Jett Duffey won’t get any time to relax.
The Red Raider secondary is allowing close to 250 passing yards per game, and now it has to deal with Brock Purdy, who has turned into a consistent machine, is hitting the deep plays, and isn’t making enough mistakes to matter.

What’s Going To Happen
The Red Raiders aren’t winning.
They’re 3-0 at home and 0-3 on the road, but those home wins were over Montana State and UTEP to go along with the the big performance against Oklahoma State.
Iowa State continues to be a rock. It lost a heartbreaker to Baylor on the road, but it was dominant in Morgantown last week against West Virginia. Can it handle a third road game in four weeks?
Yes.
It’ll be a push, and both teams will trade haymakers, but Iowa State won’t make the big mistakes the Red Raiders need. It’ll be entertaining.
