Ion office move makes London block fully-let

Software firm Ion has agreed a London office move, making a City block fully-let two years after its occupier collapsed.

Ion has signed a lease for 44,700 square feet at the 210000 square feet Riverscape building at 10 Queen Street Place.

Most of the property was home to the UK arm of former law firm SJ Berwin (more latterly called King & Wood Mallesons) before it entered into administration in 2017.

Since then the block’s Malaysian landlord has invested in a £15 million refurbishment and signed up tenants such as accountancy firm Haysmacintyre.

Knight Frank’s head of strategic asset management Julian Stocks, whose firm advised the owner on the revamp and lettings, said a once “tired asset facing a highly uncertain future” has been transformed into “an attractive hub for the tech and media sectors”.

New deals come despite concerns some companies would axe or freeze office moves until there is greater Brexit clarity.
