CHENNAI: Harmanpreet Singh (13th), Suresh Babu (32nd), Nambi Ganesh (37th) and Vinod Rayer (50th) scored one goal each to help Indian Overseas Bank beat GST & Central Excise 4-2 in the CHA Super Division League match at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium on Thursday.
In the other match of the day, Sanjay Xalco scored in the 13th minute as Integral Coach Factory beat Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu 1-0.
Pitchaimani drew the first blood for GST & Central Excise in the 12th minute former India international Harmanpreet equalised within a minute while Suresh Babu increased the tally in the 32nd minute.
IOB boast of having two seasoned forwards like Vinod and Harmanpreet in their ranks, but it was lacklustre defence of GST and Central Excise which made their job easier. IOB would have won the match with a bigger margin if they had converted all the chances that were created.
Nambi Ganesh made it 3-1 immediately after the breather and Vinod scored the fourth goal for IOB in the 50th minute to maintain their winning streak. Hasan Basha reduced the margin in the 59th minute.
