iO Theater expands programming with Mission Stage

Sept. 01--The iO Theater will expand programming to all four stages of its space this September with the addition of The Mission Theater. This announcement comes after the transfer of The Mission from celebrated improvisers TJ Jagodowski and Dave Pasquesi to iO owner and producer Charna Halpern.

"The Improvised Shakespeare Company" will continue creating its impromptu Elizabethan plays, now four times a week, with the addition of a Saturday 8 p.m. show on the Del Close Theater stage. The current events-inspired "Whirled News Tonight" follows suit with a move to The Mission on Saturdays at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Revolver, named Best Harold Team at the 2015 Del Close Awards, moves to The Mission Fridays at 10:30 p.m.

The fall slate of The Mission also includes Team Starkid's 90s Nickelodeon parody, "Yes, I AM Afraid of the Dark," Sundays at 8 p.m. and the live-lit comic book exploration, "Omnibus," every third Tuesday at 8 p.m. "Your F!@$ed Up Relationship," a new improv show about the audience's crazy exes, runs Saturdays at 8 p.m. in The Chris Farley Cabaret.

In closing news, long-time iO group 3033 will perform its last shows Sep. 27 at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on The Mission Stage. The iO Theater is located at 1501 N. Kingsbury St.
