Investment companies eye up Trinity regionals

Trinity Mirror's regional newspapers are attracting attention from private equity firms, including Candover and Apax. The announcement that the company is reviewing all aspects of its business (see various postings below) has not yet sparked interest in the national titles, but analysts believe there is one big obstacle to a break-up of the company: Trinity Mirror's £230m pension liabilities.
