A club that allows investors to buy into newly distilled spirits has made its first move into Scotch whisky.
Whisky & Wealth Club launched with an investment in cask Irish whiskey last November and has now entered a partnership is with Lowland distillery Bladnoch. New spirit will be produced specially for Whisky & Wealth Club members, poured into 200 litre ex-bourbon casks and stored in a bonded warehouse while the whisky matures.
The whisky, created under master distiller Dr Nick Savage, will be given a new name, resulting in a Lowland single malt exclusively available to clients of Whisky & Wealth Club.
Whisky & Wealth Club, which has London and Dublin offices, turned over €4 million in its first six months and expects to hit €10 million revenue by the end of 2019. Next year, it expects a turnover of €24 million.
Chief operating officer and co-founder William Fielding said: "We're thrilled to be entering the Scotch market after our successful launch with cask Irish whiskey less than a year ago. Bladnoch is the perfect distillery partner for our Scotch launch, the distillery estate is world renowned which will add to the value of the casks as they mature.”
Bladnoch, near Wigtown dates back to 1817 and is the southernmost distillery in Scotland.
