Investigations ongoing to find Salford man missing for eight days

A Salford man has now been missing for eight days - according to his concerned friends and family.

Nick Simpkin, 49, was reportedly last seen at his flat at the top of Langworthy Road, in Salford, on November 14.

But concerns have been growing since then, as they say his phone is switched off and that nobody has been able to make contact with him.

Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that they received reports that Nick was missing and that officers are currently investigating.

Friends have been out searching in the nearby area and putting up missing posters.

They commented it is 'out of character' for him to go this long without making contact.

Neil, a friend of Nick Simpkin, told the M.E.N: “The last time he was spoken to was last Sunday and I think that was his daughter.

“That was at about 2.50pm.

“He lives at top of Langworthy Road.

“His phone is off, the police have been informed and are in contact.

“It’s totally out of character for him. Once or twice we might not have seen him for a day or two but we know he’s in his flat.”

Another friend Leah, who calls him by the nickname 'Simmo' added: "I've never prayed in my life but my god have I done some praying the last couple of days.

"We’re all absolutely worried out of our minds.

"One week nobody has heard from him, we just need to know he is ok.

"This is out of character for him, we just need him home with his family and friends where he belongs."

Anyone with information about Nick's whereabouts should contact police on 0161 856 9125.
